For over 15 years, Kailua Music School has been a hub for creative learning on Oahu.
We offer music, band, theater, film, and fashion classes for kids, teens, and adults. Voted one of the top music schools in Hawaii, our students have performed everywhere from Kailua Festivals to opening acts at the Blaisdell Center. With a focus on confidence, creativity, and real-world experience, we help students grow on stage and beyond.
Private classes at Kailua Music School start at age four — and we also offer adult music lessons! Classes are catered to each student individually, combining classical training with popular styles, or any mix in between.
Pricing begins at $45 for a 30-minute session or $85 per hour. Coaches are available seven days a week with varying schedules.
Not Immediately. Kailua Music School has plenty of instruments on site that can be used during lessons. We can also help guide you on what to purchase for home use too.

We are open from 12pm-7pm on weekdays and 9am-2:30pm on weekends.

Welcome to a stylish semester of sewing and fashion! This spring/summer at the vibrant Kailua Music School, aspiring designers will embark on a creative journey. Held in the heart of Kailua, this class offers weekly sewing classes each Wednesday through the spring and into the summer. Focusing on beginner and intermediate skill levels, students will gain hands-on experience with basic stitches, machine operation, pattern reading, fabric selection and project creation, all under the expert guidance of the Kailua Music School Coach Team.
During this course, students will complete personalized fashion projects, tailored to their age and skill level. Whether you’re a beginner looking to explore the world of sewing or an intermediate designer aiming to refine your skill, this class is the perfect creative outlet for all!
Calling all young performers! PopSquad is a fun, high-energy class where kids explore vocals, songwriting, musicality, and stage presence. Held at our main Kailua Music School building, this class helps students build confidence and creativity through music. Last year’s squad lit up the stage at our spring show—come be part of the next big performance!
Drop the beats in this exciting DJ Turntable class designed for music enthusiasts ages 7-15. Students will learn the fundamentals of the art, from blending songs and creating unique beats to scratching like a pro. Our hands-on instruction builds real skills and confidence behind the decks. This semester culminates in a grand finale where each student showcases their new talents by performing as a guest DJ at a live event, the perfect introduction to the world of live performance!
A hands-on filmmaking course at Kailua Music School where kids and teens explore story-building, animation, cinematography, directing, and editing. Over 20 weeks, students collaborate to create and showcase their own finished films, gaining confidence and creative skills in a fun environment.
A high-energy music and movement class for ages 3–6, held Tuesdays from 3–4pm at Kailua Music School. Through rhythm games, singalongs, instruments, and group activities, kids build confidence, coordination, and social skills in a playful, supportive setting. Enrollment is $120/month. A fun, engaging band experience for ages 8–12, held Saturdays from 9–10am at Kailua Music School. Last year’s crew rocked the stage at Kailua Music School’s spring show, and our Le Jardin Summerschool Popsquad wrote and recorded three songs! We can’t wait to see what this year’s squad creates!

Ukulele Club is back at Ka’ōhao School! In this exciting class, students grow in music, songwriting, and stage craft, all while having a blast. From learning chords and strumming to creating their own songs, club members build confidence and community through music. Last year, our amazing keiki even opened for The Green at Concert Under the Stars! Instruments are provided each week.
